Groups picked!

Today we were given are 6 choices of artists to take on and make a music video, we were also asked to pick who we are going to work with in our groups. Me and Stacey decided we were going together and we both decided to make a music video on a boy group called Smooth Criminals, with the classic N sync song: 'Its gonna be me'.

ROUGH TRADE

ROUGH TRADE:

Independent music: music that isnt in a big record label.

Rough Trade started more than 30 years ago, in 1976.

Jeff Travis started a record shop called Rough Trade.

The shop stocked for artists that wanted to 'do it yourself'.

In 1977, Richard Scott joined Rough Trade.

Rough Trade became a record label equality.

Signing Stiff Little Fingers was major: sold 100,000 copies of their first album.

By 1980, Rough Trade has grown massive, but still couldn't get a hit.

Then Rough Trade becomes close to going bust.

1982, shop sold but name kept on.

Offices move around Europe and America.

End of 80's, Rave music becomes big.

December 1990, downhill.

March 1991, half staff axed.

June 1991, ceased trading.

But Rough Trade was revived.

1993, Jeff Travis becomes manager of the band Pulp.

Rough Trade records comes back in New York.

2006, Duffy becomes labels first number one hit with 'mercy' after 30 years of it starting.
